Moving Day and Beyond...

Well we are officially rid of our 1950s house on a busy street and proud new owners of a 2005 house in a quiet family neighborhood!!
Don't get me wrong - I love our old house and I was really really sad to leave - that's where our life began - just me and Josh. Then came Olivia and a year and a half later, Silas. It was a great house and we have tons of really special memories there. And Josh did such an amazing job remodeling it and making it our own - there's a lot of hard work that went into that house. And surprisingly? No. Not surprisingly he's got a list started of things he wants to do here in the new house:)

We are loving the space - I told J last night that I feel like I walk so much here! That's a good thing, right?! We need to fill some of the space with furniture and hopefully that will happen soon. The upstairs living  area is empty and echoey and needs some love.

The kids are adjusting. Some nights are not-so-good but some nights in the old house were not-so-good either. They are pretty good once we get inside and things are familiar, but Libby is so certain when we pull up to the house that "this is not my home". She cried about it yesterday but I convinced her to come inside to see if all of her toys and her good girl bed were here and then she was ok. So they're adjusting:)

Not sure if you heard, but our new daycare provider backed out on us last minute and wasn't even willing to help us out until we found someone new, so I have been working from home and trying to find a new place for them to go. With God's help we found a spot at Loving Arms Children's Center in Johnston, right by my work! It's a daycare at a Lutheran Church, so they learn about Jesus and read bible stories and have chapel time (when they're older). They also play play play! They have an excellent preschool program where over 90% of the kids can read to some extent by the time they graduate the 4's class!
Our first day was yesterday and I took the kids in just for a few hours and I stayed, bouncing between the two of them. They both did really good. Libby took to it like she'd been there forever. She's a little leader. A bossy leader! At cleanup time she made sure to direct the kids that weren't helping by telling them, "You pick up that book. You pick up that book." Then during lunch, which we weren't supposed to stay for but she insisted, two little girls were banging their spoons on the table and she said, "We don't play drums on the table." You tell 'em Libby!! Wouldn't it be great if she followed her own advice when she's at home?! How do you think she knows we don't play drums on the table? Because she does it ALL THE TIME!
She also made a liar out of me. I told the girls that she eats like a bird and sometimes doesn't eat at all. So she ate 4 fishsticks, 2 helpings of corn, 2 helpings of applesauce and piece of cheese. Come to think of it...Maybe she doesn't like my cooking!
Silas was in a little baby room, but was bowling over everyone and everything so they moved a baby from the crawler room back to the tiny baby room so he could be where he fit in better! The boy is starting to walk already - a couple steps here and there - no hands! He had a bit of a rough day today but hopefully it will get easier and better for him soon. It's just a lot of stimulation - noise, toys, new beds, new house - so much going on right now. Poor little guy is just exhausted - so exhausted he isn't sleeping well. Never in our life did we let Libby in our bed, but he sometimes get to join us at 5am when mommy wants to sleep! Don't tell Libbs:) The day we moved he was trying to walk and he fell and hit his eye on the ottoman. He's got a cut and a black eye - looks tough!

So we're doing part-time right now and we'll go full days starting Monday. Pray for the little babes!

They are so hilarious - our kids. I accidently stepped on Libby's fingers 2 weeks ago and she still randomly says,"mom. you stepped on my fingers. you need to apologize!"  Libby - Can we move on? Seriously! Or she talks about how Uncle Mike broke her sled and it was not nice ..that was all the way back at Christmas:) Girl doesn't forget a thing...She was picking her nose the other night and I told her it was gross. She laughed and said "I'm gonna eat my boogs!" She makes us laugh.
And Silas is just a happy little camper. Pretty clingy to mom right now, but I remember Libb going through this stage, too. He can point at the light if you ask him to, He can find mom, dad, Libby and puppies too. He says mama and dada and we think he says byebye, too. Smart little bugger just like his mom - HA!

So anyway - that's current with us. I need to get up some Christmas pics and new house pics and kid pics up. Hopefully do that soon when I locate the camera!

Love ya all!!
