Things have been really great this month. Our basement remodel is coming along - slowly but surely. By the end of the week we will have drywall up and be ready for paint and flooring! This means that even if baby comes before we're done, we at least have a useable space for family to come and stay.
Josh has still been working hard and traveling quite a bit, but that is going to slow down here in the near future - well the traveling part at least :) Thanks to Oma and Opa we got to get away for a weekend together in Kansas City. We had a great time shopping and eating and just hanging out together for some QT before life gets even more crazy and busy than it already is.
Libby learned some cute new tricks from Opa. She loves to tell you how big she is. Just ask her if she's little
and she will throw her arms over her head and let you know that in fact, she is "BIIIIG!!!" It's super cute! The other thing she started doing since she came home was ducking behind a piece of furniture and popping out to say "BOO!" She totally caught us off guard with that one. It is hilarious!
Her interest in puppies is still very strong, but she is also beginning to love bears. It's one of her favorite words right now and she will say it 100 times in a row if she sees a picture of a bear anywhere. She gets to watch the cartoon "Little Bear" in the mornings sometimes while we get ready for work and she thinks that it's super great.
Her vocabulary grows every day - I can't even tell you how many words she can say but it's a lot. We got home from work/daycare last Friday and she stopped in the kitchen, looked up on the counter and said, "banana." Plain as day..that's a hard word for kids to say so I was really excited for her! She asks, "whatssat" constantly. Even if she knows what it is, she still asks, just to ask. She's a very inquisitive little girl...she wants to know everything there is to know!
Not only is she inquisitive, but she is very demanding and can also be pretty defiante and even down-right naughty sometimes. It used to be if you told her no or to put something back she would listen. Now, she listens, thinks about it and then turns and runs with whatever she isn't supposed to have. She might even tuck her chin, squint her eyes and give you a little taunting look before she runs!! She is quite the handful sometimes.
She's also turning into a little hugger. She randomly stops playing or reading or doing whatever it is she is doing and runs over to give us a hug. She will wrap her arms around our leg/s if we're standing or climb up on the couch for a regular hug and a pat on the back. It's so darn sweet!
Her boo-boos demand kisses to feel better. It may take a few, but usually they can heal any wound. She fell in the basement yesterday into a pile of wood and hurt her tummy. I was close by so I picked her up, but she wanted down and she ran to her daddy for help. I guess sometimes only daddy's have the healing power :) It was really cute and I am pretty sure daddy loved it!
Little tiny baby is doing great as well! Growing fast and getting plenty of exercise :) Doc says it's head-down and heart-rate is good and no concerns so far, thank God! With only 5-1/2 weeks to go we pray it keeps going this way. We are still struggling with picking a name for it if it's a boy. Hopefully we can decide on something before it comes. If it's a girl - we are good to go. We're both really in love with our girl name, which is Alaina (Lainey). Cute right? If you don't think so then you'll just have to live with it!
My friend Jessica took some maternity pics and some of just Libby for her photography class and she sent me a few...these are at 32 weeks...
Then we had maternity/family pics done with the photographer we hired to do Libby's 1-year pictures and to do the new baby's pics ...These are at 34 weeks...
