Looking back
Here are some of my growing belly pictures. It is weird to see because I didn't ever notice the day to day growth. It was like one day I didn't have a bump and the next thing I knew I had a basketball under my shirt! The belly is soon to disappear. I am kinda sad about it. It has been something undescribable to have our baby as a part of me for the last 9 months. But it will soon be in my arms, so hopefully I won't miss it too much...

D-Day is just around the corner...
Last Thursday we had our 38 week OB appointment. And of course there was more lack of communication between doctors. But you know what? WHO CARES - We are going to have our baby 5 DAYS from today!!! We ended up scheduling my induction for next Thursday, October 21st :) We are praying and would appreciate your prayers that the baby comes before then on it's own or that the induction goes smoothly on Thursday.
As of last week, my body was "unfavorable" for delivery, but all of that can change overnight. We have our last appointment Tuesday morning and are hoping things have progressed some. If not, we will have to go in Wednesday night and I will have to get some medication to prepare my body and then Thursday morning they will start the pitocin and hopefully before Friday we will have our beautiful baby in our arms!
The last 10 months have been very life-changing for Josh and I, but the actual birth of our child is obviously going to be even more of a change. We are so excited and so ready to meet our little creation. It is absolutely going to be the most awesome moment of our life when he/she joins the world.
I think I have known this all along, but it keeps occuring to me recently that this baby is going to be ours FOREVER! What a responsibility - an amazing responsibility.
We appreciate all of your support and your prayers throughout our pregnancy, and appreciate your continued prayers this coming week. You are all in ours !
Something to look forward to:
A woman goes to her doctor who verifies that she is pregnant.
This is her first pregnancy. The doctor asks her if she has any questions.
She replies, "Well, I'm a little worried about the pain. How much will childbirth hurt?"
The doctor answered, "Well, that varies from woman to woman and pregnancy to pregnancy and besides, it's difficult to describe pain."
"I know, but can't you give me some idea?" she asks.
"Grab your upper lip and pull it out a little..."
"Like this?"
"A little more..."
"Like this?"
"No. A little more..."
"Like this?"
"Yes. Does that hurt?"
"A little bit."
"Now stretch it over your head!"

One more for today...
Last week was a busy week, as you can tell by the 3 posts I am making today that all should have been written last week.
On Wednesday last week, some of my girl friends took me out for a baby celebration dinner, planned by one of my BFFs - Jessica! We went to Bang Bang Mongolian Grill. Me, Jess, Emma and Lexi (Jessica's girls), April and Charlie. It was a blast - I haven't had a girls night in forever, so it was nice to talk about all the things girls talk about and just have a great time.
April and Charlie got me a Moby wrap! If you don't know what it is - check it out - it's sweet!! http://www.mobywrap.com/ Thanks girls!!!!
My mom and dad came down this weekend since I am not allowed to travel (we were supposed to go up North to visit our families this weekend, and I am sad and sorry to all that we couldn't make it). My mom and I practiced using the Moby - it doesn't quite work on me right now since my belly is so big, but it fit nicely on Mom and we got a good idea of the different ways to wear it :)
Jess and the girls got us some super-cool baby Hawkeye gear!! Included was a baby Hawkeye stocking cap, socks, Sweatpants and a long-sleeve onsie (this is for a boy) and a little Hawkeye cheerleader dress (for a girl) that is the cutest little thing ever!! Since we don't know what we are having, she went overboard and got an outfit for each :) Josh wants to keep the hat even if it's a girl...He's in love with it!! Thanks girlies for all the gear!
So I had a really really fun time...Let's do it again soon after baby is here!
And I will add to this post since I mentioned it already about my parents coming down this weekend. They were here just for a few hours on Sunday, but it was lots of fun! They wanted to see my pregnant belly one more time before it goes away (let's hope it goes away!). I am so lucky to have them as my mom and dad. Even at 27 years old, they still take great care of me in many ways...they brought me homemade jelly and spaghetti sauce (my mom makes the best!) and squash and pie and all sorts of good stuff. And they take care of my emotional side with all of the love and support they give me and Josh. I can't wait for them to be grandma and grandpa to our baby - it's going to be another great set of relationships to watch grow. I hope to be as good of parents to our child as they were to me and my brothers and sister.

4 YEARS LATER
Josh and I celebrated our 4 year wedding anniversary last Thursday October 7th!
It is crazy to me that 4 years have gone by, but at the same time it feels as though we have been a part of each others lives forever....We decided that that is a good thing!
I am truly blessed to have Josh as my husband and best friend. I thank God every day for bringing him into my life. He knows everything there is to know about me, sometimes to the point of annoyance - I don't think I could get away with anything if I tried! It may seem cliche, but he can ALWAYS make me smile and that is one of my very favorite things about him - he is a funny guy and has never held back around me even when it makes him look totally dorky :)
Josh and I share the same values and opinions on many things in life, and the ones we have differed on, we have always been able to talk through and come to a satisfied agreement. We really are an amazing match. I am confident that as we begin the next stage in our life of raising our child we will be able to continue this way.
He may not be known as a man of patience, but I have seen his patience grow over the last 9 months. Not that I have been a huge pain-in-the- butt pregnant lady, but there have been times when my brain was slow (or not working at all) or my emotions ran wild, and he has been pretty great through those times.
I know he is going to be an awesome daddy and I can't wait to watch the relationship between him and the baby unfold and blossom. It will be beautiful.
It took only a matter of weeks and endless hours on the phone for us to fall in love, and I look forward to a full lifetime of happiness together!
A Little R&R
We had our last Perinatal appointment last Thursday. It didn't go as well as I had hoped. Everything is fine, so don't worry. But Dr. Drake put me on bedrest since my blood pressures are being unstable. This means I have to spend my days on the couch preparing myself for what is to come. Although I am sure when the baby gets here I will appreciate the relaxation time that I have now, it does not appeal to me at the moment. I really wanted to go into labor at work so I could spend the first few hours keeping busy and my mind off it as much as I could. And I wanted to keep working because as I thought, this last couple weeks is going slowly - especially now that I have nothing to do except think about it!
BUT I want and need to take care of me and the baby, so here I sit, 9am, just having finished breakfast and chillin' out in my sweats:)
